Open Position: Water Operator
The ideal candidate will have some education or experience in Water Treatment, preferably with submersible membranes. Interested candidates, without training or experience, may be considered if they are able to complete training and/or classes, pass required testing and obtain an Operator’s license, within two years of start date.
Responsibilities will include plant maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of treatment plant mechanical and electrical equipment, and facilities; including regular operation of 3 treatment plants. Will also be responsible for maintenance of wells, water towers, water mains, hydrants, water meters, and grounds. Will assist with sampling, testing, and lab work as needed; and other duties as directed by the Operations Manager and Certified Water Operator.
The position requires a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and the ability to work in outside elements throughout the year. Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally higher weights. Must be able to demonstrate physical fitness, including standing and walking for long periods of time, frequently going up and down stairs or ladders. 30-minute emergency response time required.
